Negativity Bias in Email, or an Argument for Emoticons

Hey all –

Just a quick blurb here from an interesting article I just read about email etiquette and emoticons.  Basically, the article says that emoticons helps us communicate better by eliminating a negativity bias that we have neurologically built in way when it comes to emails or textual communication as a whole.  I’ve been told I use emoticons like letters of the alphabet (frequently), and I’ve never noticed explicitly before that people seem to have no problems understanding my emails.

Anyway, here’s the article.  Take a gander — interesting read.
